    How do you know if you have a 01V transaxle or a 01N transaxle? I have a 99.5 1.8T QTip.

    Pop open the trunk, lift the floor mat and on the right side of the spare well, there should be a build sheet with a whole bunch of 3 character codes... Look for one that says 01V or 01N...

    same question but for
    99.5 2.8 V6 QTip Engine code: AHA, Transmission code: DRN
    VIN: WAUED28D5XA330005

    How do you know if you have a 01V transaxle or a 01N transaxle?
    or where do I look it in ETKA?

    IIRC, the 2.8 V6 Transmission transaxles didnt change from 96-01. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong.

    01N = 4-speed, Front Wheel Drive, Auto-Trans for Audi 80/90 Quattro (up to 1995).
    01V = 5-speed, Front or All-Wheel Drive, Auto-Trans for Audi A4 (96+)

    There are several different transmission codes for the 01V which deal with gear ratios, final drive, torque converter stall speeds, and other differences. You should match the codes upon replacement. The code will be printed on the build sticker in the trunk.
