    Re: Timing Belt Broke!!

HPA may build a performance head, but to date no one has seen the need to do much more. A chipped 225 can easliy get 275 HP on stock equipment, decent exhaust, and a VTDA from www.modshack.info.

Mileage? How long you had it? Expect to pay 6K or more to have an engine fixed. I had this happen, and we replaced everything (yup) between the intake and exhaust ports. Only the acccessories remained.

If you go cheap, a head may do OK. No estimate for that.

Hey, sorry to hear about your bad luck.

The same situation was my introduction to repairing and maintaining Audis.

Cost was ~ $5,000 at a dealership for stock everything.

Good luck, and enjoy the upgrades!

3000 miles overdue for a timing belt job: the important part is the tensioner. It actually fails, not the belt per se.

Sorry for the mishap. Luck on the fix.

Same thing happened to me in the B5 A4... It cost 2500 to replace the 8 bent valves and also change the waterpump, timing belt and tensioner.. =\
