Would it be poser like to do this badge http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...viewimage.html on my 05 USP?

    Thanks for the opinions,

Re: Poser? Y/N, S-line rear door badge on USP

I have an 05 ultrasport and added those to my car on the grill and the side trim. I don't think it's poser at all especially since the inside of my car cam with an S line steering wheel that has the S line badge on it. Do what you want! ;-)

S-Line is what the USP was to the rest of the world (along with some performance mods). There's no poser shame in sporting S-Line badges.

S-line badge on the trim moulding is not poser.

The S-line badge is on 75% of the A4s that come out of Germany. S-line does not equal USP, in Europe S-line is mostly interior modifications and not a complete package like we have here in the states.

I've thought about doing this on my USP Avant. I think the only negative is that you won't have a stock USP anymore.

Nothing wrong w/ it though. USP is the same as S-line, although in Europe S-line parts are broken into individual options: you can get the exterior, interior, and suspension as stand-alone options.

Re: Poser? Y/N, S-line rear door badge on USP

I personally like the s-line badges, I think they look cool. Not posing if you have a USP, as said above they are pretty much the same thing. I like the DTM badge too, if I had any DTM stuff on my car I'd put that badge on mine.

Now here is a question, what if you had the USP front that everyone is putting on the car and then you had some s-line blades and an s4 rear with a USP steering wheel and s-line aluminum door jamb panels or whatever they are called. Would it be poser to put on ab s-line badge then? I think I know what most would say though.

If you buy one they cost $26.00 + shipping. If you buy two that's already $52 + shipping. So $55 for three shipped, is a deal. Believe me they want a lot of money for this "piece of plastic". I shopped around and this is the best deal I found. Basically, for the same amount of money that the OP spent, I have a trunk/interior badge as well. Or...you can not buy these and leave your car alone and have $55 in your pocket. Either way, it doesn't change what I think and how I spend my money. Different strokes for different blokes.

Now if I decided to spend $55 on some "type R" badges, please, please knock some sense into me!

Meh, it's all relative. I'd get them if I had a USP, I think they look pretty cool. People spend about that on dinky tinted plastic turn indicators so who's to say?

I don't know about the ones you guys are buying but mine were aluminum and very nice at that. I bought mine on Ebay from a guy that lives in Germany and they were less than $40 shipped but that was a while ago. I like mine and think they reall add to the car. Not to mention they add 10hp each. I have 3 so that's 30 extra hp. You have to pay to play kids.

What kind of logic is that? The point is that the parts are overpriced. Just because you got 3 for $55 doesn't mean you got a deal. They are ridiculously overpriced to begin with.

No one said you couldn't buy them. I just said they were expensive. When you consider what they are and how much profit is being built into those (what do you think those cost to make?) it's just a monumental rip-off.

I don't see your point really. By your logic, you don't buy anything that has a high profit margin? Ever buy a CD? Or a pair of Tennis/running/basketball shoes? Or a bottle of Gatorade? I'm pretty sure the profit margins on those things are comparable to the s-line badges.

But that's the market's price, no one is selling them for less. To the consumer, it doesn't matter what the costs are to make, if the market will bear the price and there is a monopoly. If a competitor was selling it for much less than we can bitch about the price. You can say the same about gas, do you know how much it really cost to make, you know how much profit they are making. Of course we do, Exxon-Mobil has the largest capitalization in the world right now, thanks to record profits for 3 years running. They won't lower the price unless the market changes. So if you want it, you have to pay.

That's the logic in that. Either buy it or don't buy it, since no one else is selling it for less.

i thought the 05 USPs came with "S-Line" on the rear doors (04s did not)??..

i guess i am thinking of the "S-Line" on the steering wheel (05 has it, 04 doesnt)..

but to answer your question, i dont think putting S-Line badges on a USP is being a poser.. a USP more or less the same as an S-Line..

i thought the 05 USPs came with "S-Line" on the rear doors (04s did not)??..

i guess i am thinking of the "S-Line" on the steering wheel (05 has it, 04 doesnt)..

but to answer your question, i dont think putting S-Line badges on a USP is being a poser.. a USP more or less the same as an S-Line..
Ya, my car is an 05 so it has the badge on the steering wheel.

Actually, we can bitch about the price regardless of whether there is a competitor selling it for less. A spade is still a spade and $55 for 3 dinky pieces of silver plastic is absurd.

Just because something costs X amount of dollars doesn't mean it's worth that much. A fool and his money are.... you know the rest. I digress.

Again, if no one else is selling it for less, then you can bitch all you want, nothing will happen, you can simply not buy it and hope others agree with you and that will change the market. But since myself and others seem to think $55 is not a bad deal for some badges. I don't think they will be lowering the price anytime soon. I just want them, not really going to dick and bicker about the issue, again, it is like gas. We cry to anyone who would listen, but at the end of the day, as long as we are buying they are not changing.
