Tradin' in for a 2009 HHR SS

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Its time to just ship. I test drove a '08 HHR SS this weekend and I loved it. It made my sport suspension quattro feel like I was driving a truck and I even have Conti Sport 3's on it. The '09's will even come with 4 piston brembo's up front! An Aftermarket tune will add 60+ hp! Yes, it is FWD but I won't be drag racing it. It does have a "no lift shift" option which is pretty cool and gets 29 mpg's on the hwy. I hate my slow CRAPTONIC trans.

One of my friends has one and absolutely loves it. But I just cant imagine switching to an HHR (even an ss) from my A4. But I guess if you like it, that's all that matters.

I posted this because an auto manufacture is finally making cars for the people. How many cars can you name that cost $26,000, has a DI turbo, 4 piston brembos, Nurnburg tuned suspension, launch control, no lift shift, can carry 5 adults with luggage, and gets 29 mpg on the freeway?

why are you getting rid of a b7? it cant be that old. i considered the hhr ss before getting the a4. the hhr ss is fun, fast, and a great bang for your buck. however, its ugly, fwd, and built in mexico. if you were moving from say a gti to an hhr ss, i could understand. but from a beauty like an a4 to the chevy? you should have smelled the ridicule a mile away.

Agreed. The G8 looks awesome and has damn good performance for the price. How much do the Charger SRT8's go for? There's a part of me that likes that car because of how beefy it looks, although it's a car I would never buy because I like smaller, sportier cars.

ohh yeah. SRT8 goes for 36k right off the bat. Best bang for buck is the G8. Its a mean s.o.b. and i played with one not long ago and it whooped my ass. its got the same powerplant as the GTO, but its a 4 door. thats all. The interior is very euro-similar.

It's Nurburgring and it's a catchy marketing phrase used by almost all automakers today. Audi vs. Chevy is apples vs. oranges comparison and I really find it hard to believe that that an HHR handles better than an A4, since it does have a higher center of gravity. But all that aside, don't you get an impression of a lower quality interior/fit & finish when you sit in a Chevy? Personally the only Chevy I would ever buy (had one actually) was a Corvette. Nice car, but the interior quality wasn't up to par at the time: bunch of rattles and the always leaking roof. American manufacturers always made the "best bang for the buck" cars, but cheap usually does not mean better.

At least in Dallas you don't need awd so why not if that's what floats your boat. I'm curious, what lap time does the HHr do on the Nurburgring? Thanks for buying American, at least you didn't buy an asion POS.

I really really hope this is a joke. Don't you know Chevy is in the dumps and you won't have any dealership to service it because there won't be any!!! The G8 is a decent car. I would take that over the HHR. Did you know the PT Cruiser and the HHR were designed by the same person! He should have his drawing hand cut off!!!

this is crazy. especially in dallas... the texas version of LA. even the cobalt SS would have been less cringe worthy... even respectable.

on the other hand my dad loves the hhr, but hates my car because the tires are too sporty.

different strokes i suppose. see you on the b8 forum in a few years :)

That's just rude dude. C'mon guys, let's give this guy the benefit of the doubt and help him a little bit. I mean, come on, this guy has decided to move on to another level of auto enthusiasm. Look at what some of his fellow future HHR owners have pulled off...

And besides, now he can run 22" wheels!!! That is just phat!

    Fixed!
