Stasis Catback and Testpipe owners help?

I'm wondering if anyone has this same setup.

I just had my stasis catback put on.. I had the ecode testpipe for a few weeks and decided to get a full system.

After I got the catback, the car is making a very loud deep droning when im accelerating between 2000 - 2800 rpm. Granted its a testpipe and a deep sounding exhaust system, this thing actually vibrates all my mirrors and causes my ears to pop... that loud.

wondering if this is just how it should sound or if there is a problem. I dont see a leak anywhere, but the exhaust sounds very mellow, close to stock when its out of the rpm range of the droning.

ideas? (flame if you must, but im mainly looking for useful thoughts)

I remember someone had the same problem, I think they said that part of the exhaust system was touching the car and passing on vibrations. It could be worth it to check into that, maybe someone else will chime in though.

Yeah, that is not normal. I have a STaSIS Catback, with no test pipe...but still...it shouldn't do that.

I also went for a ride today in an A4 with GIAC-X and AWE-catback. It's a nice exhaust, but IMO, there is significantly more drone with that one compared to the STaSIS.

Re: Stasis Catback and Testpipe owners help?

I wonder if you have resolved your low rpm Stasis exhaust noise.
I had my Stasis Catback installed about 2 months ago (no test pipe, just plain catback) and although it got better with time it is still making that loud low frequency hum at 2500 - 3000 rmps. It does make my ears pop too :-( especially when at high load (AC on, bikes on the roof, accelerating). The car sounds quiet (good quiet, slightly louder than stock) at higher rpms, but this loud hum at the cruising speed is very annoying to the point that a 2 hour highway drive results in a serious headache. You can simulate it by placing your ear next to your home subwoofer's bass-reflex port.
I am seriously considering going back to stock if I will not be able to resolve this.

My car is not chipped yet and I wonder if anyone out there has any experience with this type of issue on chipped vs. stock ECU.

I have also dropped 40sq ft of sound deadening Dampllifier Pro in the trunk and rear fenders with no significant improvement.

That's not normal. My exhuast is pretty quiet. There is a little drone when I'm in 6th gear, at 2600 RPM going up hill. And even that is pretty quiet. That's pretty much it...
