Do B6's trunk lift open automatically??

I've been curious about this since I got the car last year but never really asked about it before. So yeah when you press the trunk button on the FOB key, do B6's trunk pop and lift open automatically? b/c mine surely does not....

No, they just unlock.

It unlocks and then you can grab the trunk and open it.

If you insert your key into the key provision and turn it counter clockwise it will also open the trunk. I found that out the other week since I had to get into my trunk and my battery is disconnected.

Alright, from how it looks, I gather then that it's standard for B6's to not have trunks that lift/flip automatically. Just thought I asked b/c I checked out my buddy's new Jetta the other day and his trunk lifts automatically. I figured B6's may have the same feature...I just never really knew if it did/didn't til now...

mine pops open when pressing the key fob, but the damn button on the trunk lid works when it wants.

i thought my car was the same deal until i found out that the button on the trunk lid only works if all the doors are unlocked. the button will not work if your driver's door is unlocked but the passenger doors are locked. hope that makes sense.

^^u can use a C-class spring for the trunk! when u push the button on our c240 it shoots open!

We need Capt. Obvious' custom airbag system but for the trunk.

Our A4's don't do this because we have the compound hinge system instead of the traditional space hogging arm traditional type that most other cars can have. So therefore our trunks don't just pop up like traditional ones unless they are motorized like the A8.

i agree with the mercedes comment.. on my dad's clk u need two hands to close it because the spring is so stiff

I just saw a video of the Bentley's, they close automatically too. Someone start a project on that!
