So a friend of mine has a leased car B7 with the factory xenon kit and I have halogens. His car is about to be traded in b/c the lease is up. Think the dealer would notice if we swaped them? I know its dooping the dealer but......

The dealer probably keeps tabs on what leased cars have, so I wouldn't do it unless you're feeling lucky.

yeah dude, i think if they noticed which is a high probability, it would be viewed as trying to defraud the dealership which could put you at their mercy legally. And court costs will def outweigh the cost of xenon kit for your ride.

i honestly dont think the dealer will actually keep tabs on what the car came with... if anything you can just say that the car was involved in a minor fender bender and the shop replaced the projectors with halogens

since this is on the same topic. Does anyone know if the dealer would care if you clear cornered your headlights and/or painted the chrome stuff black (xenons)? This is the only thing holding me back from doing the cc mod

I fully agree that moralily its not right but swapping lights is something that will not keep me from sleeping at night.

The shear fact that I recieved the 3rd degree about asking for replacement center caps for my peeling ones gave me reason enough alone............Still not right but.............

Probably not a good idea. I think they would eventually catch it (within days-2 weeks) when they CPO the car and then they would come after you to make it right. Not worth it imo. On the other hand you could try it and see what happens.

Lets see, with Xenons the car comes with a color display which can be ordered separately, headlight adjusters and memory seats which I believe both require Xenons.
So, if I were to see memory seats and no Xenons I would be asking whats up. They do have a check list of what options the car should have and know what makes the car easier to sell.

Hmmm, I believe if you go threw with this, karma will bite you in the ass..

A friend of mine had a merc e 320 with 18" reps (his car came with 16"). He thought it would be a good idea to rent a benz with oem 18" that were identical to his reps and swap them. He went threw with that and he got away with it.

But guess what happened a few days later?

He got in a serious wreck and totalled his car! Even worse he was hospitalized for a month with a broken knee!!

Was it karma? My friend certainly thinks so..

Everyone is talking about him stealing. I bet most people posting are running cars with software. What happens when you go to the dealer for something malfunctioning in your car. You turn your software back to stock right? Well wouldn't you consider that stealing. Considering Audi should not have to pay for some part that malfunctioned due to the fact you were running the software.
Anyway my advice is to do what you want. Personally I wouldn't I think the dealership would find out eventually.

With your VIN# the guy that will inspect the car before trading it will know exactly what the car came with and they will check for everything.....anything that has been changed or altered will be charged at the end of the lease..... trust me, i have a friend that works at an audi dealer. At least they are very strict with that stuff here in South Florida...

I agree with the karma thing but I also agree with those who say that the dealer will not notice BUT karma is a b*tch and I don't want to be on its bad side.
