This is the kind of attitude that would bite you in the ass later. It is like not wearing your seatbelt, because you are only going down the street less than 3 miles. Life comes at you fast and comes at you hard. When you least expect it. That 1am run, anything could have happened, yes, it was probably not very probable. My Infinity M35 was parked in front of my house, properly. I didn't know that at 6am some drunk was going to take his truck and T-bone it, totalling it, neither. To answer your topic, yes, you are lucky that you and your family and the drivers in the TSX was ok and lived to tell about your adventure.
Don't get me wrong, bro, I was there 15 years ago, I know...but you will one day know what we are talking about. There's a reason why they have racetracks and allow the public to run on them. If you really like to run, join SCCA.
