Crushed my previous best time @ Willowsprings!!

Dyam im one happy dude right now...I crushed my previous best lap time of 1:41.4 @ WillowSprings big track by clicking off a 1:39.8!!!! I broke the 1:40 barrier!! The thing that gets me is that i ran on the 91 octane file not the usual 93 or 100 files that I track on...too poor to run straight 100.. I ran in the Intermediate #2 group of roughly 20 cars..It was tough getting clean laps all day due to too many cars slowing some of us down when catching 'em.. A few Lotus Exige..Assorted newer M5's ..M6's ..350z's..Corvettes..Porsche RS..pretty sure the BMW guys were all buddies since they passed me up on the way there on the 14 in a wolf-pack! They were on race tires posting in the low 1:40's..Doughboy 2.0 POWAH!..Key factors in this best lap time had to have been the R-compound BFG R1's bought them barely used still at 4/32" for $390 shipped ..Ebaybaby!!..stiffer sidewalls..quicker turn-in response..just frigging plain sticky... but once the temps climbed to about 100deg..times dropped considerably... l know im getting faster trackin-out in infamous turn 9..and im experimenting with a slightly different line in turns 5..deeper braking points in turns 1 and slightly lifting off throttle rather than quickly jabbing the brakes when i set up for #2 sweeper..Met Chuck in his Beautiful black RS4 w/ Stasis/Ohlins suspension..he was suffering with street tires though..think he was lapping mid 40's..Wonder what 100 octane will do next time.. lap times are posted on Speedventures.com...peace

You should go out to Fontana and run the 1/4 mile some time, street legals is July 12th and July 13th is the Summit event. If your just looking to make 3 runs before 1am go to the Summit event since there is usually less cars then the street legals.

Cmon BMW CCA has well over 30 cars entered per weekend - No reason why we cant have an Audi group racing as well.
