C6 Vette vs. 2008cc B6 Avant 2871R video

From a roll, ~20-140mph. I started out in 2nd gear at ~2400rpms (~5psi) and hit full boost just past 4000rpms (~23psi). The vette started out in 1st gear. ~90 deg F 5000ft elevation. I was running +0 deg advance on lemmiwinks, T9 on sps3, 104oct. Vette on 91oct. He got me on the start, then it was over. My buddy was doing a good job holding the camera out the window.

First off, are all your roads like that? Just abandoned and straight....?

Now if that was a Z06, I would be super impressed.....not only that, you were at 5000ft above sea level, and yes I know the C6 owner decided to buy that car despite where he lives, the outcome might not have been the same down at sea level. Not hating at all, just dissapointed that our cars are still fairly slow (barely beating a N/A C6 at 5000ft) after all the money that is needed to get there....

I didn't pull ahead of him until ~100mph. I started braking from ~140 the moment that I pulled back into the lane ahead of him. Thus the posted ~20-140mph run.
My car is ~+/- 500lbs heavier than that C6 so think how much more power I need to take him regardless of elevation differences. if I started out at 4000rpms there would have been no race. I pulled ~3-4 lengths ahead of him from ~100-140. For an NA that C6 is still a beast up here for sure. fun car to drive.

There are so many roads like this out here it's unreal. Just need to get out of town to find them. I wanted to run with the 03 twin turbo 911 but there are no 3 lane wide roads to go neck and neck with all 3. I've driven that car though and my bet is that our cars would be dead even with each other.

Nice run, I would like to see the outcome with both of you running pump fuel, the vette also didn't really look like he was into it all the way, it wasn't really squatting down or appear that he was banging gears all that hard. All in all it is an impressive though. How much power are you making?

nah the 2008 C6 vette LS3 motor puts out 400whp stock, 06-07 is weaker LS2

The guy driving the '06 C6 is one of my best friends. I guarantee he was into it 100% and driving that car perfect. If I were on pump gas it would be even IMO, I just need to start out in my power band. I have no clue what power I'm making. It's all relative around here anyway. A dyno soon will tell what power I'm making over my previous setups.

I thought about that but I'd have to drive the car down there to do it (3.5hrs). Or pay to tow it. It'll be easier and cheaper to break it in near my house since the first 30-50 miles are critical.

I live on a 4-lane road that is fairly straight so I'll just go out late one evening during the week or super late (after midnight). That will guarantee an empty road so I won't be pissing anyone off by revving and engine braking.

That figure is probably very close. If I can get a custom tune done I figure this car could hit 400whp. I've seen 425whp out of fwd VW with 2871R, so 400whp is possible. Some C16 would get me there I'm wondering how the stasis center diff will react on the dyno rollers.

Doug, just break it in at 3am. If that's the only time the roads are clear than that's the best option. You want to drive it on your own terms for break-in and not have fvckers all around you screwing it up.

I mean do people meet their neighbors, find other friends in the area like we do in the urban areas? I'm wondering how the stasis center diff will react on the dyno rollers.

I've been meaning to ask Mark about that. The rollers are pre-programmed for a B6 A4 which comes with a 2:1 center diff. I'm not sure what differences (if any) need to be done when loading the rollers for a B6 A4 with a 4:1 center diff. Perhaps Greg can provide some insight on this topic since he's dyno'd with a 4:1 center diff....

Actually, its an 05' and the reason the car didn't "squat" too much is that is has the Z51 package w/ the magnetic suspension. That was a good time Jordan! Perhaps another run this afternoon after we do those logs?

6.0L V8. Same engine as the GTO I raced, but with a chassis as solid and light as the C6, it was a much different race. That's why I bitched at Spencer (you can hear it on the video lol)...I wanted to start out at 4000rpms on my end since I would have been in my power band. Since I started out at 2500rpms, the low end power of the vette got the jump on me.

LOL. Only one HUGE problem, at the elevation that they raced that 400chp corvette is really only making around 288chp. So as you can see its not really a race at all unless you think a 288-300chp Corvette is going to be fast.


Jordan stop racing weak ass NA cars at 5000 ft, you need to run them at sea level or find another FI car to run against.
