    First pics - new rims

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys this is the first time I'm posting pics of my car. Its a 03 dolphin gray 1.8t quattro manual. I finally received my new rims and tires, gunmetal VMR 708's in 19 inches, with 235/35/19 Yokohama S.Drives. I just put them on two days ago but haven't had it aligned yet. I haven't been driving it too much but how crucial is it to have it done when you get new wheels?

I'm 99% sure my car has the sport package, I saw that the shocks were red in the rear when I took off the old wheels. How do you guys think the stance looks? I feel like it could be a little lower in the front but idk. Let me hear your opinions!

Car looks awesome IMO. That is the stance that I will be looking for when I end up changing out my non-sport suspension. I have winter to worry about so I don't want to go too low.

Do you need hubrings with this or are they custom hub size for Audi?

Nice ride! Love the wheels. I would lower it all the way around. Even put some spacers on the back wheels to give the back a wider stance. Do the clear corner mod and blackout your grillz!

Thanks for all the replies guys.

I'm pretty sure the sport package has red shocks, not red springs.

I'm definitely going to do the clear corner mod!

Quick Question, Would any of you guys trust tire kingdom with the alignment of your audi? I really want to bring it to the dealer just to know its perfect but its about $100 more than TK.

I'm just talking about general ride height... I can't go too low due to lots of snow.

you should NOT need an alignment if you just put on wheels.

Depends, if the alignment was off on the old set. I would still get it done just for peace of mind and making sure your tires will wear evenly. Around here a 4 wheel alignment is less than $60.

Looks very nice. Any vibration at higher speeds? What about the ride quality as compared to your stock wheels?

Re: First pics - new rims

I was hoping I would have that exact same setup on my car but because of VMR being out of stock again, it looks like I'll have my wheels around the middle of July.

This thread is making me want them on now. I just got STaSIS Streetsport's installed, and with these wheels I think it's going to look great. Besides lowering it, I would suggest clear corner, black out those grilles, and some smoked side markers to go with the theme. Looks great.

Awesome look! Are your calipers painted grey? If not, it would be a nice touch to have painted rotors.

Re: First pics - new rims

no vibrations, the car feels 100% smoother than my old set, probably mostly because I had one tire that was much more worn than others(I have no idea if it was on there longer or what, I bought the car used and all the tires werent the same ). That is one reason I'm probably going to get it aligned, I'm not sure if it was the tire's age or if the alignment was out. Either way I'm happy I have new rubber, it rides quieter and smoother than before. I did notice that the brakes do feel slightly weaker with the 19's, but that is to be expected.
