I'm NEW and need HELP... please.

Still very new to this car and its engine/any engine....just wondering what this thing is and why it keeps popping off and disabling my car? Is something broken? Do I just need to get a new clamp?

Try your local VW dealership and check the price. By the time you add shipping it will probably be just as cheap as ordering online and you will get it quicker. I super glued one back together and it held for several weeks before I got around to changing it out with a new one.

i paid $20 shipped online from purems a while back. install is probably 10 minutes. might take longer because of the damn one-time use clips. try to get some hose clamps from lowe's or home depot or something so u can rip off the old ones.

for a temp fix, u can use zip-ties to hold it together. again, that's a very temp fix, like 2-3 days if ur waiting for shipping. and if u go this route, try to stay out of boost. i lost brake pressure on the road cuz of it, had to use my ebrake to slow myself down.

Picked it up from dealership for $47. Took me about 20 mins to do cause I had a hard time getting my hands in there to pull out the old one. For those of you who haven't done this yet or haven't dealt with those stupid one-time use clamps... I found the easiest way to break them off was with a flathead screwdriver. Tried cutting the first one and took me forever.. then I just broke off the last 2 with the screwdriver.

Dremel and cut off wheel works well too..$47 wow attack of the stealership.. Glad it worked out for you, it seems everyone is having this similar failure including myself.

Yeah, $47 is a little steep compared to online prices but I wanted it ASAP... plus the one that I picked up was 058 133 753 "D" not "B" and it was definitely a little more beefy than the one that was on there... hopefully it will last.
