Need help to clean my wheels

I am so pissed right now.
The f...ing a..holes in my city decided to "rejuvenate" the streets in my neighborhood.
So they laid this sticky stuff along with sand or something like that.
I drove as slow as I could but that stuff still clung to my wheels.
I have the hyper silver RS4s from VMR. It's stuck mainly between spokes and at the corners of the larger openings. And inside the wheels.
I tried powerwashing my wheels but a lot of the sand and the sticky stuff couldnt be removed. It's almost like tar or something - it wont go with soap
Does anyone know of a good product to use? - I dont want to ruin the wheels nor scratch them

    Appreciate your help in advance.

That sticky stuff is Tar...if im not mistaken...Try Mineral Spirits...had good luck with that...if that fails, Stoners Tarminator, or AutoGlym Intensiv Tar Remover...

    Hope that helps...

Stoner's Tarminator does wonders. It should gently get the tar off without damaging the clear coat finish.

After that, give the wheels a good soaking of P21S gel. Spray it on, and let it sit for 1.5 to 2 hours. Lightly work in with a boar's hair brush and rinse away.

Dude.. sorry to hear your car is going through a hard time.. (wet sand marks and now this)

Like the other fellas said, give stoner tarminator a try, spray, let it sit for a few mins.. and scrub with a sponge that comes with the P21S TAW.

Thanks for the kind words. My "babies" are going thru some rough time now.
But this stuff doesnt bother me anymore. Once you go thru stuff that no matter how much money you throw at it - wont work - these other problems become trivial.

Btw: Where do I get P21S TAW ? It doesnt look like I product I can buy at a regular auto store.

Re: Need help to clean my wheels

    Update:

I noticed I had in my garage - Turtle Wax Tar and Bug remover. That stuff works really well. And it leaves a wax like finish. That if you dont have so much sticky stuff.
I tried it on one of the wheels but I there was so much sand and sticky stuff I used almost a half a bottle. I ended up washing the wheel twice with Meguire's Gold Car Wash.
Normally if you only have a spot of tar or bugs you can use the Tar and Bug remover and wipe it with a microfiber cloth. You dont have to wash that stuff off.

Anyway - three more wheels to go. After I removed the wheel I noticed my wheel well is full of this sticky stuff and sand. I need to get my car out of the garage and power wash the wheel wells.
