    Boost Gauge

So, I've searched the forums and read about the various boost gauges and I think I've decided on getting the Prosport premium electric boost gauge (peak recall). I'm definitely going to put the gauge in a Podi mount, but I don't really like the looks of Podi's stepper.

My question is, how many of you have Prosport gauges? I found VZWalex's thread (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...light=prosport), but that's about it. Anyone else with this gauge, what's your opinions, etc?

Huh? Very dangerous? You get what you pay for? You're going to have to elaborate more.

It's not exactly a cheap gauge, $80 is middle of the pack I'd say.

    Re: Boost Gauge

I got the ECS tuning vent mounted boost gauge kit a few months ago. Pretty good quality, but two huge knocks on the kit - the instructions were useless - actually for the wrong boost gauge (manual and the included gauge is electronic), and the kit was missing parts that I had to go track down elsewhere so I could install the thing...

I'm not really looking for the vent-style gauge. If I was to get one, I'd probably get the new VMR. Reading through the posts that came up when I searched for the various gauges, I determined pretty quickly that the ECS vent gauge was pretty much garbage.

    Re: Boost Gauge

Does it change colors constantly while you're driving? That seems very annoying. I have an AutoTec Blackout guage that's totally blacked out until I turn my headlights on mounted in a podi pillar. I like it quite a bit. I never had the buzzing problem either until I took the car to get serviced this last time I took it in. But now its there. It only buzzes when I get on it and it reaches 12-15 psi. If you like that guage that you're looking at then f--- everyone else and get what you want. That's what I did.

I don't think so. It's either lit up white or amber depending on how you switch it.

From the videos I've seen, it only flashes at you when you exceed a preset boost level...warning you.

    Re: Boost Gauge

the podi is perfect imho. it only covers the speedometer from 0-15mph which isn't really useful anyway.

i don't understand why people would get a boost gauge without peak hold and warning so i agree with you on the podi stepper gauge not being a good choice. as for the prosport, i have not had experience with it so i cant really give you any feedback on it. i do have an stri gauge and have been pretty satisfied with it. it is very responsive and accurate (expected boost levels are on point, stock vs apr but have not done official logging). no shorts or bad boost signals either. the peak hold and warning are also very convenient to have. the only thing i don't like about it is the fact that it does not have an illumination dimmer. it matches up pretty well but can be pretty bright on longer drives at night. i eventually turn the illumination down to turn off the backlighting.

    good luck.
