iPhone aux Audio line-in adapter/switch Blitzsafe or other? Bose stereo

I’m trying to figure out which blitzsafe (or other brand) connector/switch to buy. Here is what I own.

    2004 Audi S4

    Audi Bose premium stereo

    -XM Radio = yes
    -In Dash CD = yes
-Trunk music CD changer = no
-Audi GPS NAV, Data CD player in trunk = yes

What are my options to get a nice line in so I can play my iphone through my stereo? A tape adapter is not a good solution as its too noisy and messy.

Also, do they have any retrofit systems to use my phone with the OnStar phone system? The onstar system is useless since the service is no longer available even.

    Thanks!

The iPhone works with the iPod adapter you can buy at your local Audi dealership. It goes into airplane mode when connected, btw.

The dealership will retrofit a 2004 S4 with an iPod adapter?

Hmmm the airplane mode sounds like a deal breaker. No work around? I plant to the iPhone 3G in July as well. (any dif?)

You can either buy it and pay for installation, or bring it home and install it yourself, it comes with instructions, but you need the radio removal keys. I'm not sure if they have a new version that supports the iPhone officially, but from my experience, connecting the iPhone to iPod accessories that feature speakers, the iPhone goes into airplane mode, to protect the speakers from GSM noise. Basically, your iPhone will become a glorified iPod with this setup. I’m only familiar with full iPhone integration on new Audis, like the Q7, sorry.

the speaker pop doesnt happen at all when in 3G mode (dif freq) so hopefully they will not force the new 3G iphone into airplane mode.

I guess I'll just try an after market car audio shop. I'm confused on if I have any spare inputs though. I think they can make a toogle switch to turn one inpue into two if needed though. As long as everythign looks as stock as possible. I like proclip for the holder near the vent. (need to see all the options though)

I was looking for line-in adapters for a different purpose, but ran across this site which has various ipod options, and generic line-in options... http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_s...tml/index.html

You should be able to use your trunk cd connection to setup an ipod connection. A DICE or GROM unit should work also. Do a search on DICE. I got a GROM unit for my 3rd gen ipod. It's petty much the same as a DICE unit without the extra audio line-in but cheaper. GROM audio is based in San Mateo and can be purchased on-line, including ebay - directly from them.
