OK this is my 1st real post I'm looking to get a new or new to me Audi. I need some input from you guys, I have some choices. My main goal is to have a good looking car over speed but also functional because I have a 6 month old. Thats why I'm leaning to the Avant or Allroad I will get to moding the car but I have a Vr golf thats my speed demon so I should be good. So what do you guys think is the overall better platform? if there is such a thing

    1. 01 S4 Avant with about 67K miles not sure about the Timing belt or turbos worst thing about this car is its and auto.

    2. 00 S4 Sedan with 60k timing belt and services done but cost more. Manual

    3. 02 Allroad and remember the mileage but I think its around 75 and its the cheaper than 1 and 2.

    4. 01 S4 with 96K and its the cheapest and again not sure about the services.

    Re: Input Needed

^^exactly. How the car was treated/maintained means a LOT more than mileage.

I would get the avant if you're not worried about the car being super fast. A tip is a great family car, not to mention useful for hauling TV's, microwaves, small children, etc

    Re: Input Needed

yeah but in the future if you are going to mod it i wouldnt go with the avant, once you get into modding it its a very particular taste. i moved my entire room out from college in my a4, not to mention fit 4 rims and tires in there and a TON of other stuff.

    to each their own though.

    Re: Input Needed

If you already have a car for speed I would go for option 3.
01 Laser Red S4 Stage 3 | Vast Fueling | Clutchnet 6 Puck Disk with RS4 PP | APR Downpipes | Aluminum Flywheel | Neuspeed Exhaust | SRM Side Mounts | ECS Pulley Kit | RS4 Airbox | UUC Short Shifter | ST Coilovers| Samcos | AWE DTS Bar | JHM Center Diff | 034 Track Motor Mounts + Street Trans Mounts | Apikol blue rear diff mount and bushings | Areomotive Fuel Pump | ECS 2.0T Coil Conversion | Hooked on Meth

You already have a modded car. With a ecu flash you will be good to go with the allroad. You have a 6 month old, dont get into another money pit right now!

    Re: Input Needed

#3 if you have the VR. different software and hook it up to VAGcom to lower the stock suspension as low as it goes and you'll be good. like galvan said, save money, spoil the child haha.

    Re: Input Needed

Thanks guys for the input. I'm going shoping this week it will either be the S4 Avant or the Allroad right now I'm leaning to the S4 but we shall see. I need to see both cars in person and drive them.

    Re: Input Needed

yeah that is what I was looking at also then found sedan with get records and got that for the same price. The biggest diff for the the advent and allroad besides body style was, the allroad was lifter higher. Kind of reminds me of my bmw x3.
