What has to be removed from stock suspension for coilover install?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am getting Coils soon and I wanted to know what parts from the stock suspension has to be removed and mounted to the coils for install?

Bascally I wanted to knwo so I can possibly purchase these items new, (say pillow ball mounts) and assemble the complete coilover before install so all I have to do is unbolt my stock suspension and bolt in my new coils, no spring compressor or anything...

    Thanks all

you will need a spring compressor for the back springs, getting out the old and putting in the new. i know you can borrow them from a place like advanced auto parts.
b6 and b7 suspensions are the same and i followed this diy to replace my suspension and it all went down pretty easily http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=114492

    ^ Beat me to it.

The rears come out in 2 pieces along with rubber spring mounts, so there's no pre assembly before installation. The fronts can't be assembled until the OE parts have been removed. See pics below and Capt. Obvious DIY post. A spring compressor is a must for the fronts and the rear subframe can be dropped in the rear.

i did it in my garage
make sure you have a floor jack bc many of the suspension components have to be tightened while the suspension is loaded

OK, I'm attmpting to find a lift, I have friends who are techs but as of late the places they work are very concerned about non workers (not covered by insurance) working in the garage...
