Well as some know I bought a avant nice car and not many things wrong with it. Well on the back where the license place screws into there is sort of a bracket that is attached to the car then the place itself screws into that, well mine does not have that. So I went to the dealership today and asked for one after 10 min of searching for what part I was describing he comes back saying its a whole system on the back im missing and its going to be 250 for the part plus it needs to be installed and painted. I said thats bs and left. If anyone knows of a avant thats being parted or if you can find me this part number that would be great as I am not paying 250 for something that does not do anything for me.

They quoted you the wrong part. Nothing needs to be painted and it should only be about 20 bucks tops. Hell I could probably snag you and extra one and just mail the damn thing. Just go back and explain to them that its the plastic piece that sits behind the license plate which the techs are supposed to screw in during the PDI process. That will spark some lightbulbs.
