stock a4 + k04 = ?

guys please help! yes ive tried searching but couldnt get an exact answer.

my car is completely stock engine-wise (95 1.8t), but since my 2nd turbo blew, im thinking of getting a k04 instead of a k03. anyone know what would be the result i slap one on without modding anything else? i know its direct bolt on and everything and that it would be best with a chip, and a 5 bar fpr, but what if i just get the k04 first? i live n the philippines and its not that easy to get stuff for our cars here. please help me out and i hope i dont get flamed. yes i searched. just need a quick answer coz i need to order a new turbo asap.

k04 on stock will be fine. allthough you may want to figure out why your blowing k03's before you spend the cash on a k04.

thanks guys. my oil feed line was clogged so there was no oil running to the turbo. stupid mechanic wouldnt listen to me when i bugged him to check it. thus my new turbo blew in no time. its all good though because the owner of the shop is gonna pay for the replacement. anyway k04 here i come!

Seeng how you are in the Phillipines, I don't know how readily name brand k04 turbos are available. But make sure you get a KKK, Kinetic, or Borg Warner k04. Just make sure not to get a cheap one off of ebay or else you will be getting a new turbo in no less than 2 years (assumption).

his name on ebay is jayhui1986. not sure if he has k04 units in stock though. as for the k03, last i checked he had 1 unit in stock which he reserved to me.

nah he replied that his buddy who was supplying him the turbos didnt have any k04's so i've been looking around for more options. the k03 he sent me previously looked good though. original vw/audi packaging and it was real clean and was all good. never tested it though coz it blew after the mechanic took it around to test it. found a used k04 in ebay though. comes with some other stuff like a manifold and an ecu i think. $500. i may just end up getting a k03s from there in the US unless i find a good deal for a k04. would've preferred something from hong kong though since its nearer. guess ill just have to wait and see what i can get.

i just bought my k04 from gpopshop.com its nice pulls well. They did a verynice job on it and the owner is a very cool guy. Its like 780 with two day shipping not bad though. So if you like it your welcome and good luck man.
