this article http://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1594531.phtml is for 4 cyl. they say the neg - should NOT be moved from terminal 3. can anyone tell me what post it should be on for testing our icm's or a write up specific for our cars?

Not sure, but if your testing your icm because of misfires all on the same bank just swith them up, log and see if the misifres switch banks.

    Re: testing icm's???

when i swap icm's around i find this... one way it has a cyl misfire in cyl 3 and 5 with 3 being the worst. 1 and 6 have 0 misfires and cyl 2 and 4 have 1 or 0. now when i swap them cyl 3 still has misfires but not as bad. now cyl 4 and 5 have them and there are more in cyl 4 than 5. cyl 4 went from having 0 or 1 misfire to having like 9 or 10. kinda confusing but hopefully someone understands it lol

I had that same problem and replaced my o2's on a whim cause my car hit 90k on originals and made sure the plugs were gaped at .28, cause 3 was at .30 for some reason it stoped the misfires.
