Anyone know this? I'm trying to figure out which problem the dealer is fixing since I have about 3 noises my car is making.

Tony I dont want to sound like a dick but have you tried inspecting it yourself. Like actually getting under there and try jerking and getting someone to quickly turn the steering wheel an what not

    Re: Broken Tie Rod

I would if I had my car! I went on a canyon run with the last life of my brakes. On the way home I got another ticket making it 2 in 3 days so I just decided to take my car into the dealer for all of the warranty work to be done now.

They called me back saying it was a broken tie rod that was making one of the noises. I was just curious as to which noise it was!

    Re: Broken Tie Rod

Can someone link me to the NEW and REVISED version for the tie rods? Supposedly there is a beefier one that has replaced the smaller, weaker ones...........

Go with B6S4 tie rods. They are solid unlike the A4 ones. I am going to be replacing mine sometime soon with them.

    Re: Broken Tie Rod

umm it really depends on what is "broken" as to the noise there solvig, and it could be that more than 1 noise is coming from that tierod, when you get torn boots on the ball joint of the rod and rust accumulates it is very common to have a high pitched noise come from the joint while turning the wheel or going over bumps, at the same time it is very possible the joint is loose to which could be causing a clunk that can be felt through the steering wheel.
