    Thumbs down lower steering column

alright, I'm painting my podi + lower steering column so that i end up with what will look like a 100% paint match. I was wondering if anybody has ever painted the lower piece, and what the hell they did to prep it for paint.

The actual podi piece took the paint pretty well, and the lower piece looked like it did as well, until i touched it and the whole freaking thing peeled off.

I washed both pieces prior to paint, but i'm guessing that the lower being rubbery made it not stick.

    any tips suggestions or tricks?
