dumb question - Removing RS4 Ti package lugnuts

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ok, looking at the lugs on this Ti package RS4. They seem to have Ti colored plastic covers over the lugs, I assume? I don't want to put a socket to it and break/strip it. Anyone have any ideas? I have modded several cars, but need to be careful with this one, so I don't mind asking dumb questions....

    Thanks!

Look in the tool box adjacent to the spare wheel. There's a tool that looks like black plastic tweezers. Insert onto the cap until the teeth grab on to the edge of the caps and pull.

Looks like the U-shaped tool at the bottom of the pic.

not dumb. I thought the same thing when i changed a tire. How the F do these come off? Had to dig into that manual book. Yes, the tweezers pull them off very easily. So easily, I wonder how they stay on.

    Haha.

My buddy was at my house putting on the RS4 sway and decided to remove one of the rear tires to get more room to work. We sat there for like 20 mintues, being all manly and avoiding the manual, thought we could figure out why the lug nut tool didn't fit, but finally gave in a looked in the manual.

Boy did we feel salty. I'm almost embarassed to share the story.

Glad I am not the only one.....

I assume the notched in ends without black coating go in and pull out the plastic caps? correct me if I am wrong.

I am little paranoid about working on this car coz its soooooo nice!

Don't be a pussy. Grab those tweezers and yank those puppies out. It's not like you're doctor working on a human.
