    Question Squeaking and a creaking

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So my car turned over 100,000 not too long ago, and now the sh!t's hitting the fan. When I get in the car, it squeaks. When I drive straight, it squeaks. When I turn, either direction, it squeaks. When I get out of the car, guess what, it squeaks.

After searching and reading around here, it seems it could be any number of things. My first thought is control arms, then tie rods and cv joints? Possibly suspension?

Where should I look first? TIA

control arm bushing is my bet.

get under neither the car and have someone turn the wheel back and forth. While its moving put your hand on the control arms to see if one has a vibration in it more than the other.

I had the same problem after I lowered my car, I Jack up the car and spray WD-40 on all the joints then turn the steering right and left. After I drove the car around the block a few times the noise went away.Try this first before you start changing front end parts.

Check to see if the CV boots are ripped? The grease all sprayed out of mine and now I've got a never ceasing squeak when the car moves... I should fix that soon. XD

control arm bushings/whole arms are going. Just had mine replaced, and guess what, no more squeeking!! And it handles a tad bit better too, not so sloppy feeling in the front.

It's probably the control arms. I spoke with my guy the other day and we're just gonna do a quick temporary fix, ie; pierce them and inject them with grease and re-seal them.
