    Verizon/Bluetooth Question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm in the market for a B7, and I'm trying to decide whether to get the bluetooh option as a Verizon user. I've done a lot of search, and I'm getting conflicting info. If I buy an a4 with bluetooth, will my verizon razr work with the bluetooth? The phone is listed on Audi's site, but I've seen people say that Verizon disables bluetooth compatibility and that you have to download special software.

I anyone running this phone with bluetooth in their b7?

    Thanks.

    Re: Verizon/Bluetooth Question

no experience personally on that phone, but i'd say go to your local audi dealer and ask if you can try that on a new audi. check the vehicle manual for how to do the pairing (and your phone manual for how to delete the pairing after you test it), but basically the car is discoverable for 5 minutes after you start it. during that time, have your phone look for new bluetooth devices, and when it finds the car, use "1234" as the pin (i think, check the manual to make sure). if your contacts show up, cool, you're good to go. if not, dinger.

    Re: Verizon/Bluetooth Question

If it's a bluetooth enabled Moto Razr, than it WILL work on your B7.

    Re: Verizon/Bluetooth Question

Thanks for the feedback. It is bluetooth enabled, so I'm gonna assume it will work. I may take mud's advice and try it at the dealership before I close the deal. I've just heard so much about Verizon disabling connectivity that I wasn't sure.

I've had 3 phones on the verizon network with bluetooth and they all work just fine with the bluetooth. Two KRZR's and one Blackberry Pearl. All work great!

    Re: Verizon/Bluetooth Question

yeah, it'll probably work just fine, but if it's important to you, it's probably worth the 10 minutes at the stealership to test it for yourself.

    Re: Verizon/Bluetooth Question

I happen to work for Verizon, and I know we've paired several of our phones with Audi's. I don't have the bluetooth option in my car, but I know it works. You shouldn't have a problem at all. Oh and on the phone, unless you change it, the bluetooth password is always "0000."

    Re: Verizon/Bluetooth Question

Most likely it will pair without a problem, but Verizon is the worst company when it comes to firmware. They cripple their phones by disabling many features and putting in their own junk. Go here and you'll know everything: http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=51

When pairing a phone (any phone) to the Audi BT system, the BT password on the phone doesn't actually matter. The default Audi BT password is 1234 and is what you'd use to pair your phone with your car.

Ah got ya. Yeah I've never paired them myself, our technicians usually do it. And yes, Verizon does f' all their phones up with their software, it's dumb, but oh well.

    Re: Verizon/Bluetooth Question

I've got a LG ENV2 and it will sink up, but about 30seconds later it disconnects. Don't know what's up. My RAZR with T-mobile worked without fail.
