I'll let you know after the first drive. By all accounts, it is a HUGE improvement to the driving experience in 6mt cars. I've read the difference is less dramatic for Tip cars, though.

Did you install the snub yourself? I want to get one, but it seems like a tough install.
I will prob try it anyways! :)

a few on AZ have done it themselves and the consensus seems to be it's worth paying to have someone else do it. my local quoted me around $200 for the install.

i installed mine myself and it's a real PITA, but a very worthwhile mod, especially when coupled with a short shift kit. I would definitely pay someone to do it.

Re: ECS Snub Mount and new Bosch plugs going in today, Vogtland COs ordered!

The snub install is actually very EASY.........provided you have someone helping you. At first I tried making the room to work by wedging a hammer in there. It didn't work out too well and I could only get about 1/8-1/4 turns at a time on each bolt. Loosen the bumper rebar bolts and have a friend pull on the rad support to give you room to work. Doing it this way I was able to turn all the bolts entire revolutions at a time.

By myself, it took over 2 hours just to get the old snub out. With a friend helping, it took less than 5 minutes to get the new snub installed and torqued. And another 20min or so to put the rest of the car back together.

So take it as you will:
By yourself--> PITA, frustrating, time consuming
With help--> Easy, could probably do the entire disassembly, swap, and re-assembly in about an hour.

Sorry, newb here - what is a snub mount? Is it a good upgrade for a RS4?

Its an engine mount, it helps with shifts and such, and yes it would benefit a RS4, considering its a stick.

Yes, a bunch of people had them split in half. That was a while ago and I haven't read about it happening to anyone in a while.

Got a call from the shop and they adjusted their initial estimate on the install from 2 hours to 4 hours. Told them to hold off for now. I am going to look around for a more reasonable deal. So....no snub mount today for me.

I can almost guarantee you that's because they think they need to remove the entire rad support do the job. If you really don't want to try it yourself, I'd find a shop that's more familiar with Audi's. I don't even think an Audi dealer would need 4 hours to do the swap.

Sadly enough, this was the local stealership. I asked around and was told these are some of the most experienced Audi guys in the area. Appears not. Thankfully, I have more options available but will have to travel farther to use'em.
