needed to get a new set of tires so I went to a shop called "Tire Central" in San Gabriel.
the shop also had more than a few 5-star reviews on yelp.com
there are 2 sides to my story that I'm about to share.
first the positives.
1. the prices are more than reasonable...pretty much the lowest.
2. the guy name "Donald" is very friendly and pays much attention to the customer's needs and requests.
now the negatives.
1. they're more of a warehouse type of shop - no automotive lifts, no road-force balance
2. this "other" guy who installs tires - if you see him, don't even talk to him and avoid him at any cost.
he's a chubby Chinese dude, name is Ming, who's flat out rude, grumpy and unprofessional in almost every way.
I kindly requested him to be extra careful NOT to scratch the rims.
no response from him, except he told me to leave the work area in a unpleasant way.
when the work was done, I checked the wheels and I'm sure you know what I'm about to say.
that douche bag scratched 2 of the rims on the edge.
immediately told Donald and had him checked the damages.
Donald apologized and said he'd have them repaired.
while this was happening, that douche bag was behind us but never said a word of apology.
he was still rude and grumpy.
it appears to me that, now more than ever before, more shops and their employees lack professionalism and provide crappy/sub-par services.
it's a violation of the trust/agreement between customer and merchant when they fail to deliver quality service they promise, and employees such as this douche bag should be fired for everyone's benefit.
here's the bottomline.
if you need to buy tires, I recommend Tire Central for their awesome prices.
just make sure "Donald" installs, but no one else (especially the rude, chubby Chinese douche bag Ming).
