Black'd out Tail lights ??

I saw a few A6s on cardomain with black'd out lights, my question is are the OEM lights tinted or did you buy a whole new tail light set that comes with a black'd out shell?

There are some tails that have partially tinted areas (where the white or yellow part is), but even those are aftermarket. If you are talking about tails that are completely black, it is almost always the OEM light with a tinting film or spray. I bought tinting film on ebay in 2004 for my X5 and they have help up great without any fade whatsoever. If your pretty good at doing stuff yourself, it should be easy to do and will definitely take less than 2 hours.

Hella (OEM Manufacturer) makes black out rear tails. They match the rear liscense plate surround perfectly. Well worth the money, imho.

I had mine tinted from a local shop that has a hook up on the films..... $35/light

i posted a F/S thread on my stock tails in the classifieds... my buddy works in an autobody shop and can professionally tint them for you too... not the cheap film stuff from ebay, actual paint and clear coat... here's the link

I used VHT nightshades spray paint to do my tails.
