So i went with the plasti-dip this time to do my trunk chrome. It turned out pretty well except the tape started to take some of it with it when i took it off. I really like the Plasti-dip and will redo my front grill once it gets chipped!! here are some pics:

Did you just tape it off? I tried to take this piece off when I removed my back bumper, but the whole thing is plastic and I broke off one tab then stopped. Plastic trim FTW
    Ignorance is bliss.

Yeah i taped it off. I first taped it off right around it then i got a plastic drop cloth from Home Depot ($3 for like 10ftx20ft, and unfolds) then put a piece above it and below it to protect the car and then used news paper to finish off the rest of the rearend! just make sure you don't have any holes cuz the last thing you will want is black on your beautiful factory paint!

I love plasti-dip, scuff it up, clean it, light coats and the stuff is amazing.

I;m pretty sure i'm going to plasti-dip my side window trim as well. I am a big fan of it and understand why people love it and say to use it. I was nervous at first because i asked the lady at Home Depot about removing it and she said "why would you do that? it would be all gummy and gross!!"

Looks good. I want to get my chrome trim blacked out, but I'm sure who I could go to, to have that done well. Also, maybe a stupid question...but what is plasti-dip?

I'm sure any shop around you would be able to do it. if you trust them or not is another thing. I would find one that has a good rep and knows alot about cars!

Plasti-dip is a paintish thing that makes a rubberish coating on whatever you paint it on. It is a really cool product! Home depot had it, i'm sure any paint or hardware store will have it. otherwise Click Me
