    So...Is this Y I need ecodes....

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
FINALLY decided to try and properly align my just installed VVME HID's in my OEM HALOGEN housings..... Its looks like this...
    Top: Stock look before install
Middle: How it was from lights turned on right after install
Bottom: How it looks no matter how i adjust them...(up or down/Left or Right)

I cant get rid of the second "z" line....Is this why i need ecodes? My stock halogen lights did not have the second "z".....

If thats the case im gettin some....HOWEVER....if i messed up my headlight housing RE-Installation....I NEED TO KNOW!! I HATE THE WAY IT LOOKS!! AHH

Your issue is very clear. No matter what you do, I doubt you will get it to look like xenon housings

Mine look like the middle drawing line.. Only thing is... My headlights are stock 04 xenon a4 lights... The only thing done to them is the clear mod. Can this be adjusted so there one flat line, like on my RX330.??

    Re: So...Is this Y I need ecodes....

Mine look like that every time I pull into my garage, but they straighten out when I get the car exactly perpendicular to the wall. They stay kinked like that right up until the last second though. If you're SURE you're car is straight with the wall, try adjusting the yaw (side to side rotation) of each headlight.

It's not supposed to be a flat line, your driver side is supposed to be lower than the passenger side. A proper beam should look like a backwards Z

Not really, I much prefer the DOT pattern and cutoff, it provides for little more light above the cutoff, so highway signs are better illuminated. Ecodes are much darker above the cutoff.

To each his own, but I personally like as much light on the road as possible. I still have no problems seeing highway signs.

I don't see a lack of light on the road with DOT spec beams

Better light distribution (more even) with the ECE spec.

That's a matter of opinion, I want light in certain areas, less so in others, so even doesn't really mean better.
