What do you guys think of this exhaust manifold?

It looks pretty stout and *Edit* Nevermind didn't realize the oem manifold bolts from the top too.*Edit* Doesn't look like it's ported or anything, but that can always be done before installation.

I was also looking at this OBX manifold. Clicky Click Plumbing looks to be bigger in diatmeter and the openings looks kinda beveled. I'd probably heat wrap it also.

The OBX would most likely crack if not braced.

I think he is saying if the mani isn't braced the weight of the turbo will eventually crack the mani.

    Exactly, to support the weight.

Re: What do you guys think of this exhaust manifold?

Hmmm, I'm reading up on OBX turbo manifolds right now. So far it seems like it's a love or hate split. OBX offers a lifetime warranty on it ,but I guess that wouldn't matter if it keeps cracking. It also seems like OBX used a company called SS Autochrome to make they're manifolds a few years ago and that seems to be where most of the bad experiences come from. Gonna see what elso I can find on these manifolds.

it would eventually crack due to stress from the turbo being heavy

Wow, from a cast manifold huh? Wrapping or ceramic coating a manifold wouldn't help cracking right?

Re: What do you guys think of this exhaust manifold?

So if these manifolds are prone to cracking JUST from the weight of the turbo....wouldnt the solution just be to add a brace?

    Is is that simple?

Hell if I didn't alreay have the new ATP Mani, I woulda baught it. So the question is, for all of you guys who have been running the old manifold, how long did it take for you manifold to crack ?

Re: What do you guys think of this exhaust manifold?

it has varied alot. Charlie (Audi Skate Snow) had his on for like 1.5 years then noticed a crack. Mine lasted about a year I think and I have had the replacment on now for like a year but didnt drive the car for a few months and im pretty sure I have a small crack. Some members had it crack in a few months, so there is no telling. Then there was talk of it was because people didnt have the downpipe bracket connected which wasnt the case since several had it crack and had that connected. Also others had it crack that had them ceramic coated so that doesnt help either.

Havent heard of the updated mani cracking yet but it hasnt been out long enough so I wouldnt say it is safe just yet.
