I'm on my thrid set of VMR 708 Onyx Black 19". The finish after about three - four months just starts pealing. I just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem and if so what VM has told you?

I just put the thrid set on so I guess will see in a few months if it happens again.

I have heard this happening in a few different forums, must be the onyx coating that just peels away for some reason. Maybe it's worse in florida bc of the salt saturated air. But you aren't the only one!

Side note: this is one of the reasons I am shying away from the onyx set myself (in the market for the 708's) and will probably go with the hyper silver since it matches the trim on my 3.0

Thanks for the info. I will probably be powder coating them if it happens again.

What are you using to clean them? Are you using any type of wheel cleaner on them? or any kind of brush? I was getting ready to order these rims, but now you have me concerned.
