yeah. it's really not that easy to make this SC idea to work correctly for a decent price. the car runs very very hot already as it is. adding the SC will just create more unwanted heat. we'll have to see this in person when i'm at WF.

as far as VF, they also had some issues with the R32 SC kit which they had to address. this put the S4 SC in the back burner for a bit.

I asked VF at the beginning of this month about a kit for a B6/B7 S4 and their response is below. I can only hope this really comes to be.

We are finishing up development as we speak. We are a mere month away from having the most thorough kit on the market. We realized that this was a great market and capitolized on it a while back. It takes a tremendous amount of resources to pull off what we have with this kit!

I'm really out of the whole "4.2-forced-induction-loop", but why can't 2 turbos be slapped on there like in the RS6 motor (4.2L twin turbo)? Was that motor considerably different than the N/A 4.2L in our cars?

its actually very different from the one in our cars. besides the lower compression, different cams, cylinder head configuration, it also uses a timing belt that needs to be switched out every 35k miles. our cars use chains that are good for 100k+ intervals

^+1 it not just a bolt on thing to do F/I needs lower compression, oil supply, coolant supply, exhaust manifolds, piping, intercooler/s etc.

Exactly, lowering the compression alone is an engine rebuild, + pistons, engine management, manifolds, piping, turbo, ahhh.....

VF stuff looks good and seems to be priced right IMO. Seems like they stick to the centrifical charger though........would much rather have a roots blower, but I'll take what I can get in this case!

Well the good part about using a centrifical charger is the fact that you can use a FMIC to cool the air charge.

You can use a FMIC to cool a roots style, it will just be an A/W setup.

You cant run a FMIC on a roots because the blower is mounted directly on top of the manifold, so the only thing you could use is something that is mounted between the blower and manifold, this becomes a height/fitment issue.

This is puzzling. It looks like a twin screw. I cant quite put my finger on what the big top piece where the intake plenum used to be is. If you look closely the pulley for the S/C rests below that top piece and therefore the rotors must be in line with that pulley. Maybe its some funky type of intercooler they created.
