    Re: Xenons/HID's

personally for me 6k is about as high as i would go, higher the temp the less actual light output.

    Re: Xenons/HID's

10000k is way high. 5-6k is the most i would ever go. even 4300k is good. much more output. alot of guys on az use vvme, they also sell on ebay. try a search!

    Re: Xenons/HID's

you see i understand that part, the lower Kelvin # the more light output, but reason is that i want that deep blue color, it almost turns me on!

Would 10000k be bad? how would it affect, what about 8k?

    Re: Xenons/HID's

That wasn't input, that was just an observation. Here is my input:

Don't put HIDs into halogen projectors. If you get proper HID projectors, don't put ricer shit like 10,000K bulbs in them. Here, educate yourself: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...nversions.html

Additionally, that article assumes you're smart enough to use 4300~5400K bulbs. Anything over that will seriously distort your distance perception, and render all colors a shade of blue, in other words, the ricer blue light strips all other colors of illuminated objects. It bleeds heavily outside the beam pattern, and blinds oncoming drivers, even if you aim your headlights low. It also promotes eye fatigue, if you ever need drive at night for an extended period of time. There are only disadvantages to blue light.

If you want HIDs, buy the proper headlight housings first, or at the very least, the HID projectors, and swap them with the halogen versions you have now. Then, buy OE Valeo HID ballasts with genuine Philips or Osram D1S bulbs, which are available in up to 5400K (marketed and sold as 6000K), which is blue enough.

    Re: Xenons/HID's

ew, if you want anything higher than 6000k sell your car and buy a civic or something. theres a reason cars coe with 4300 stock. yuck! 6000k at the most, anything more is too blue and looks like some cheap import garbage.

    Re: Xenons/HID's

10k is the worst idea ever. the higher the number the darker the light is. the best set up is always oem. 4100k or 4300k which color shift to 5000k after so may hours of burn time. if you want that little bit of ricer blue look get a nice projector setup and mess with the cutoff/colorband. the highest kelvin i would go is 6000 and thats pushing it.

This suggestion is wrong on so many levels... First of all, the blue color uninformed people desire is only a function of the bulb temperature. Messing with the cutoff shield is a very stupid idea, and it wouldn't yield any color changing results anyway. I'm not sure what you mean by "colorband" but you can't "mess" with the optics, which is what is solely responsible for bending light, and producing certain colors (blue, purple, green...) when viewed from certain angles. The Valeo optics we use don't really do that, not to the same extent as optics used by Lexus for example, or Honda/Acura.
