I've heard of people needing to replace Meyle parts more often than desired.

Dude both febi and meyle are made in germany, and to my knowledge are both oe manufacturers ... out of the 20 or so kits sold nobody has ever had a quality or fitment issue... we only sell the good stuff!

There is a split in the 2002 model year. The lower front control arm comes with 2 different ball joint cones:

Meyle part number 116 050 0031/HD has the smaller 16.0mm balljoint and works on 2002-2004 cars with a cast aluminum steering knuckle. This comes in Meyle 12 piece kit 116 050 0039/HD.

Meyle part number 116 050 8228/HD has the larger 20.0mm balljoint and works on 1998-2002 cars with a welded steel steering knuckle. This comes in Meyle 12 piece kit 116 050 0029/HD.

The aluminum steering knuckle has a smaller I.D. bushing...I found this out the hard way last summer

Just confirmed with germany ... you are totally correct! There is a split in 2002 ... I updated the site and put up options to purchase a kit for either an 98-02 or a 02-04 C5 A6 ... IF you want to purchase a kit just PM me and I will be sure to check the chassis and year when ordering so we will get you the right control arm!

if I may, I have replaced all control arms up front with a Febi kit from PureMS and I loved it

the only thing is I wish the car was lowered and had Hotchkis sways installed, but that would be in the works once transmission and K04's are in place
