I think as long as the parts your dealing with are an aftermarket part you should be ok....

Now that I think about it, you should be ok. None of those items you listed would be affected "broken" by your mods.

That's the one. If they get bitchy have them prove it, and then provide you with a copy -- in writing, on a company letterhead and with a dated signature -- of their determination/analysis. Then take it to whatever lawyer is convenient or even legal aid... because that would be a no-brainer even for a first-year law-student. You bought a car, and nowhere in its purchase contract doesn't say you cannot modify/add to it and completely cede your right to warranty claim on defective parts. Especially ones with known issues (glovebox hinge, or CPs anyone?).

Your luck does indeed, as dirtybird noted previously, depend on the dealer/tech/service writer.

Do you have your car chipped, too? Let them know before hand.

    Re: Stealership warranty question...

well they took care of everything for free...two coils pack went out...this happen to me 2 times already...oh yea some funny shit... they guy (audi) calls me and tell me my cup holder wasn't going to be under warranty and i was like why.. he said some sticky stuff is what is cause it to get stuck.. so due to the sticky stuff it couldn't be covered... he said it got the mechanism stuck because it was sticky.. i was like no its broken ... and he said it broke because it was so sticky... i was like no way... give me a statement that say my warranty does not cover it due to it being to sticky that cause it to brake... come on this is a cup holder which holds drinks, such as soda that might be sticky.. i don't think stickiness got anything to do with it being broken.. he calls me back and said we don't want any problems to occur so we will fix it for free... i was like duhhh ... it didn't make sense what you have told me...wow... i was getting mad because this is the third time this has happen and they said it was sticky all the time.. so i made them replace the damn thing...

    Re: Stealership warranty question...

Look up the Magnuson-Moss warranty act. I can't remember off the top of my head exactly what the act states, but it basically says that a manufacturer who provides a warranty must uphold it by law unless they can prove that the consumer was at fault in causing the need for repairs.
