    R8 replica fitment

I was considering some Gunmetal R8 replica rims. They are 18x8 with an offset of 35. I heard that this is a very common size of aftermarket wheel. Will these fit without spacers and what size tire do I need to get? I heard 255 is too wide. I would like to use the thickest walled tire I can fit without rubbing so I can still maintain a smoother ride.

    Thanks!

    Re: R8 replica fitment

I have the RS6 Wheels which are 18x8 ad 35offset and I need 8mm upfront and about 10mm in back to clear some things, I have 8mm in front and 25mm in back(had one laying around). My tire size is 235 also, which rubbed a crapload before I rolled my fenders. I really doubt 255 will be anywhere near close to fitting.

    Re: R8 replica fitment

Well I think 225 will best fit the rim size and 35 will be fine but you could get away with 235 as well. Like all wheels the style of the rim may or may not cause you issues and brakes.

I would say 18x8.5 would have been a better size as this would allow a larger tyre.

255 are RS4 size so it wont fit all though I have heard of 245 going on A4's

i have gunmetal r8 reps on my 2.7t a6. it has hp2 calipers and clear fine. i also did a test fit with these over my stoptech 355 kit with st-60s (not on the car) and it also clears, which is the reason i bought the reps.

So these wheels with 225/35 tires will fit without spacers and wont rub? Seems like I am getting some mixed answers here...

    Thanks

Like Docurley said, it's all about the shape and form of the wheel that will determine if it fits without spacers, etc.
