    Does anyone know of any aftermarket car alarms, kill switches, etc, that are worthwhile for out cars? Any in the NJ/NY area?

    Only worthwhile systems are LoJack and a good insurance policy. All that stuff, is worthless and can easily be defeated by a tow truck. No one pays any attention to car alarms...

    this is true, but I figured maybe there'd be something out there that can render the car useless even if towed....

    viper alarm or audiovox alarm. I have the audiovox one with the pager remote add a couple of extra sirens and you good to go. Most come with the remote starter function and kill switch.
