need a decent writeup on how to install sub

I'm still deliberating whether or not to sell or install hte sub i bought from Frimmel a while back. I haven't come across a good tutorial on how to install it. it's just a JL audio sub with an amp. i have no wiring, but all the necessary tools to do it. i have access to all the wiring i will need. anyone care to point me in the right direction? the only ones i saw were really crappy writeups with bad pictures

Take it to a shop, or just start digging in there. Its very easy.

i wire home theater systems, but this seems more complicated lol... so i cannot just run the sub inline with my rear deck speakers and hook the amp up to the sub? like take the wires from the rear decks and hook them to the sub, with the sub powered by the amp? fuck how do i get power to the amp then?

maybe out of order but you get the idea...its real easy...

-run a power cable from battery to trunk (w/out a fuse in it to start off)
-buy a "line out converter" (if you have stock radio).
-tap LOC into a stock speaker in rear (pos and neg)
-run wires from LOC to amp (pos and neg)
-mount a ground in trunk (shaving down to bare metal obviously)
-plug in power and ground to amp.
-run an amp turn-on wire from amp to under dash to the accesory wire of car (usually found in ignition harness)
-wire amp to sub
-put fuse in power wire near battery.

turn on car/radio. no fire,then youre good haha.

the only thing that sucks tho is I'm assuming there is no way of adjusting your bass other than through your amp.

What deck are you using? You can always get a remote bass adjustment, depending on your amp.

i remembered,the cock who had the car before me put in infinity rear deck speakers in that are pretty beefy looking, but there are no amps for them, like hte stock boses had amps on each speaker. i looked at the amp, and it has 250 on it, which i would take as being 250 watts, and there's an output adjuster on the side. could i possibly just run the amp in line with these speakers and hook up power for the amp?
