    Re: Paint job

This is better posted in the B6 S4 forum, but I'll answer anyway...

To do it right (under hood, door jambs, etc etc), I'd say $5-7K.

    Re: Paint job

To much, that's for sure. For that type of case i'd try to swap cars or deal with it. 5-7k would build a decent turbo setup, labor aside. and so there's no question which i'd rather have

Last time I checked the price for a respray was about 5 years ago and it was around $4-$5K on a MKIV GTI. It's just not worth it.

no way...i good shop will have to strip the car(take out engine, etc) When i had my Imola B6 S4, I took it in to a good shop by my house and the guy told me around 7-9k. I was going to paint the car Nimbus Grey, from the MK1 TT. I love that color!

I have to agree here, unless your not painting everything, a TRUE full repaint is going to be closer to 10k.

    Re: Paint job

The car is going to be devalued by the repaint no matter how well it is done. It isn't the original color. Your money will be better spent selling what you have and buying a car that is the color you want and being done with it.

    Re: Paint job

yep - agreed. If you're just going with another OEM color anyway, better just find a car in that color. It will definitely come out worse after a color change, and you'll spend a ton to get a decent job and it will never come out perfect.

    Keeping original paint is best.
