Replaced my B6 Ultra Sport A4 for B7 S4, new to AZ

Now that I bought the S4 I wonder why I didn't do it sooner! Gas mileage sucks but who cares, it is badazz.
I have owned fun cars b4 but this, by far, is the all in one pkg.

ALSO, I am trying to track down some good springs to reduce the gap a bit, H&R is what I have in mind- any suggestions???

wow, I did the exact same upgrade! B6 USP to B7 S4! It's insane!

    Congrats and pictures, please!

I would say, do the C/O's, springs are going to make your ride turn to crap after a while.

I think with just springs you might have negative camber issues...

this problem will less likely happen if you have the coilover system...

it's debatable i guess, a rough ride could be the end result just using springs, ill post pics asa it quits raining lol

If you choose not to do C/O's then you will have to upgrade the shocks also as the stock ones will not hold up. When you add that cost, you may as well pick up so c/o in the classifieds. Just a thought.

They will too hold up, what huge misconception.

Is it ideal to do it? Not really. Does it work? Yes.

    Welcome.......and congrats!

My suggestion/recommendation is COs for anything that is a R, S or RS and if you're gonna do springs only put them on something that begins with a A.

Congrats, if u got some $$$ go with Coilovers, otherwise H&R/Vogtlands are good springs.

    Amen...

Just putting springs on a stock shock wouldn't ride that well, if you don't want to do CO's, then try H&R springs coupled with Bilstein shocks...

Me personally...wouldn't do one without upgrading the other...

    Brilliant logic!

Yes they do and they excellent. Extremely comfortable for everyday driving and equally capable when pushed on the twisties. I've mainly bought Bistein in the past and I'm very impressed with the Vogts. They're also one of the few coils that can be height-adjusted after install.

mfresh: Welcome and congrats. As stated before, springs only will provide a bouncy ride and the car could feel unsettled when pushed on the twists, not to mention that it'll destroy your stock shocks within 5-15k mi (on average). Do it right the first time and get coils. Vogts are excellent value at ~$1,200 but there's also Bilsteins, Stasis, H&R, Koni etc. Search is your friend.

Re: Replaced my B6 Ultra Sport A4 for B7 S4, new to AZ

yeah, you guys are right and as stated, I have never used anything other than coilovers (3x on my last 3 cars). I just really dont need the adjustability cause i prolli won't change them once i set 'em. For a car in the 50k+ range, it would be a shame to have a sub-par ride- August Horch would never allowed it if he were still around lol

X2 on this... Went from B6 A4 USP to B7 S4. For the few $$'s you're are saving on springs alone it truly is worth considering a properly matched coilover setup like Startup Racing GT's. I also am a set and forget guy but am ecstatic about how much better my ride is

another b6 s4 by me has some H&R CO's...he loves them. also heard great things about PSS9/10s and KW V3s.

    this isn't a cheap car...don't cheap out.

went from B5 A4 to B6 S4....just happen to prefer the B6 look to the B7.
