MOD... PLEASE MOVE!!!! I CLICKED ON THE WRONG FORUM... MY APOLOGIES!!!

okay guys... need some help... Stock unit was Symphony Bose unit... I just installed the new AVIC F900-BT...

i followed the stereo guide as well as wiring guide on a4mods for their "turbo timer install" to wire my unit... I thought that when you have the ACC wire from the unit (red wire) connected to a 12V switched wire (used the location below) my unit will still be on if I turned off the car with the key still in it and doors closed... My unit actually turns off when I turn the car off... I am a bit confused, lol... Am I thinking right? I believe when I had my stock unit that the radio would stil be on if I turned the car off?

Should I be using the wiring diagram from the turbo timer install? I bought the Metra wiring harness mentioned in the stereo thread, but hooked the constant power, acc wire, and ground to the car itself without using the harness... The only harness I am using is the one with the RCA outs to connect to the unit...

here is the picture showing you where I tapped my ACC wire (from avic) ... picture used is from a4mods.com...

any help is greatly appreciated... i am very new to the audi world... so please forgive me... lol

That switched wire will go dead when you turn off your engine. The stereo's power is controlled by the CAN bus. What you need is a Pioneer CAN bus adapter to be able to keep the power going to your stereo when you turn off the engine. Do you have a B6 or a B7? I'll post a write up soon on how my Pioneer unit went into my B7.
