Throttle Body upgrade????

Whats poppin,

i know this topic has been touched a few times... but i'm looking for someone that can provide some insight on this TB exchange.

My setup:
GT3071 Tapp , Stock motor.

Just figuring if my turbo outlet is 2in... which then goes into 2.5pipe, IC, and back down to a 50mm (2in) stock TB... that might be causing some resistriction.



I know 034 carries TB plate, has anyone installed and has some pros and cons on this tb exchange?What kind of TB did you go with?

If you are ndbw you can go with a VR6. There are some aftermarket TB's out there that will work on our car which has a straight thru 1 size ID which does not taper at all.

Im getting my TB today in the mail from 034, Unfortunately my car isnt running right now. BUUT when it gets running ill let you know how the tb is. One thing that is that you will loose cruise control, but that doesnt bother me b/c my wasnt working anyways.

This seems like the right place to ask. What is the benefit of converting the throttle body of a longitudinal engine with a BAT (let's say, a GT30) to DBC? Noob inquiry.

This can be arranged but @ an additional charge.We basically weld a plate onto your stock manifold and tap it for the DBC you want.
This allows your cruise control bar to remain vertical.

with DBW the possibilites are endless tho.

Total noob question..I have an AEB, which is obviously drive by cable.. is the VR6 throttle body still applicable??

actually, if you know what you are doing, you can retain full cruise.

You will lose your cruise control because the throttle body is now tilted @ a 45* angle so the cruise control rod is no longer vertical.
IF you want to retain your cruise control then what you can do is have a local shop weld your stock AEB throttle body bolt pattern on the manifold shut and have them tap it for the new 2.8 V6 throttle body.

im so close to purchasing... but now u talking.. i would like to see some type of proof.

Issam, what other TB are available? is one better/bigger then the other. For example, v6 to vr6 or even a s4 TB?
