Exclamation Running SUPER lean when W/M kit kicks in....

Ok, So I got my A/F gauge installed the other day and tonight I got it all calibrated and working correctly. Then I went out on a test drive. What I saw is REALLY scaring me.

When I am just cruising around my A/F stays around 14.3-14.5 which is pretty much were it should be. However as soon as I get on it and the W/M comes on my A/F drops down into the 10.2-11.2 range!!!! THAT IS LEAN! This can not be good for my engine. I am almost thinking about taking it all out of the car so i don't blow something up! Should I be worried about this? I need your opinions.

Oh... I thought it was the other way around... LOL. Nevermind then... I guess I am a retard. HAHA. now if I am cruising at 14.3-14.5 is that ok? Or should I go into vagcom and lean it out a bit?

you have to log the car and see what is going on with timing and IAT also before you start leaning stuff out. Also you have to check first that WI is working properly

You cant control part throttle i dont think. The ECU trys to hit Stoich which is 14.8 IIRC

I'm no expert on W/M injection so maybe someone else will chime in, but from what I recall when the W/M comes on it causes a false rich reading when using a downstream A/F gauge...I just can't remember why though.

    Stoich is actually 14.7

You will run a little richer with W/M, and if you are getting good timing, low IAT's, etc, you can pull some fuel so that you're hitting 11.8-12 under WOT.
