My pointless mod

Hey guys,

I was super bored today and decided that I didn't like the color of the speaker mesh screen on my car. So I took if off and plasti-dipped it black to match the tweeter above it.

I think it looks better and matches the other speaker above and the center console.

Thoughts? Comments?

As I read it, I wasn't expecting it to look good.. Then I looked at the pic & have to admit it looks pretty good.. Maybe do the whole bottom? The compartment doors I mean..

My interior is all black so I guess this would be pretty pointless for me lol...

Not bad. Of course, make sure you do the others and the rear doors for consistency.. What is "plasti-dipped"?

rubberized coating that can be peeled off, if needed.

Did you have problems keeping the PlastiCoat from clogging the tiny holes in the mesh? I have only dipped tools so not an issue there.

Thanks for the compliments guys! No the plasti-dip did not clog any of the holes. I did do all of the other speakers screen. It looks pretty damn good to me

what if some one rubbed their foot/shoe against it would it scratch off?

You could also use a spray plastic dye. I have used that on a few things and it comes out great. Doesn't chip off like a paint. Its available at most auto parts places. Can also be used on vinyl interior parts. I had used it to make a dash two tone in one of my old cars.. Worked well..

Nope, I clear coated right after so its extra durable.
