I immediately (2 days after buying it) drove it 1000 miles down to Texas for work, where I was stationed until this last weekend. I drove it the 1000 miles back to Illinois and here we are
The car performed flawlessy through all kinds of crazy weather when making the long drive down. It was extremely comfortable on the highway while consistently getting 23-25mpg... this is with the car jampacked with ~500lbs of stuff.
I have all of the records from Scott, the previous owner to prove mods and maintenance costs. The car still has the original owners manual and booklets. This car really is a joy to drive. It has been a great daily driver and awesome in the weather thus far. The car saw 100+ degree heat and rain storms like you wouldn't believe and was great! The car is now at ~93k miles.
Why the sale?
I'm going to Alaska with Steve (Darkpillow) next month, and something has to give. With school and all of the trips I love to take, I would like to get into something I don't want to mod, or already modded (so I don't have to do it). I already spent money on HID's, and a bike rack. Modding is a disease and it's not something I need to be spending money on.
That said...
This car is extremely fast as is, there is no need for more mods. The car has been dead reliable for me and was previously for Scott. Mechanically, the car is as good as it gets. Every item you would look to replace has been replaced or upgraded. I bought the car with complete confidence that I could drive it for 50k miles without having to do any major maintenance, other than fluid flushes and oil changes.

- Mobil 1 0W40 full synthetic oil changes every 3k miles (just had one yesterday)

- Timing belt
- Water pump
- Coolant and fluids flush
- All new filters
- New all season tires
Questions you might ask?
How much AWHP does the car make?
The car has not been dynoed recently, but should make 400 all wheel horsepower by looking at what others have done. This is only at a conservative 22PSI. The car hauls a$$ as is, but the door is open for plenty more boost.
How do I change the amount of boost the car is making?
This is controlled with the manual boost controller in the engine bay. Turn up the boost and you get even more power.
How reliable is this car, I'm worried about mods changing reliability?
If you know or have been shopping for S4's, you know the problems. Turbos go around 80-100k miles, diverter valves need to be changed, boost leaks, clutches need replacement, gauge cluster problems, timing belt, etc. All of this has been done within the last 10k miles. The car is dead reliable, no questions asked. It is running a very conservative, safe tune.
Who did all of the work on the car?
GRD Performance, a well respected tuner and full service shop did the turbo swap and work. They also performed all of the preventative maintenance at the time. You can reach GRD at GRDPerformance.com. I have original receipts and paperwork from GRD. The car went full Stage 3 about 12k miles ago.
Things that should be mentioned:
- There is a dent in the rear bumper
- There is a scrape on the bottom of the front bumper
Interior condition: 9/10
- Other than a little driver side seat bolster wear, the interior is as good as it gets. The carpets/floormats are in great shape, no cracks or scrapes on the wood, etc. Everything works! The heated seats, the lights, all of the buttons and gadgets!
Exterior condition: 8/10
- The car cleans up great, the paint shines and there are absolutely no signs of rust, anywhere. Other than what is mentioned above, the exterior is in great shape.
Mechanical condition: 9.5/10
- Everything works, and works extremely well. The car drives like stock until you hit boost. All preventative maintenance has been completed and the S4 drives fantastic.
I will consider trades for E36 OBDII M3's, E46's, or stockish S4's plus cash(or something else nice and daily driveable plus cash). This car has been great for me, and it's frustrating that I bought a car I knew I would want to mod again. This is my first Audi, but definitely will not be my last. I'm now hooked on all wheel drive cars
The car comes with plenty of extra brake pads, hoses, DV's, stock intercoolers, ko3's, etc.
