    head light question?

    i have a set of single xenon's on my b6 and i was wonder what kind of bulbs are used in them....ds1 or ds2....and is there a sight that sells them other than ebay?

    D1S I believe. Avoid aftermarket ones on ebay unless you like yearly $150 expenses.

    yea i wasnt going to use ebay....now whats is the difference between ds1 and ds2?

    d1s has the ignitor on the back of teh bulb, d2s has a plug with the ignitor in with the ballast IIRC but i might be 100% wrong

    i understand.....my car is apart at the shop and i was looking at the bulbs in the housing and i said since there out i might as well change them out to 8k......but idk i am prolly going to change my high beams to yellow..

    wtf kind of shop are you taking your audi to?? you won't be able to see ANYTHING with 8k

    yeah the higher the k number is the less light u get from them. Best light output is between 3000k and 5000k. Yellow being 3000 and I want to say stock is 4300k

    Yea, I wouldn't go above 6k with a 5100k being the best of both worlds. I agree that stock is something like 4300k.

    stock is ~4300k, as the bulb ages the color shifts closer to a 5k/6k bulb. the 6k bulb sold by phillips was originally meant to be used as a color matched replacement bulb for an older 4300k bulb.

    i was mistaken i talked to the guy and he was talking 6000k.......i am prolly just gonna leave them in as is...
