how to clean/treat A3 door panels?

Spent some time cleaning up my car this weekend, and was reminded I still havent been able to get the door panels to look good (I did once, used an armor all wipe, it looked like hell again in a couple days). The door panels are textured and show marks where elbows/arm make contact. I have tried cleaners, leather moisturizers, other odd things I thought might help.

Here is a door panel after working on it with Einszett Cockpit. (click for ginormous)

What can I use to dress these panels to get rid of the lighter, dried? areas? and not leave greasy areas on my arm.

is the panel worn from leaning on it? Or is the lighter area left from dead skin cells being ground into the surface.

If the latter, then I'd try gently scrubbing with a soft bristled brush to get the skin out of the textured surface, then treating with Einszett Cockpit for a dry matte finish.

i just take out some quick detailer and spray it everywhere and wipe it all down with a MF towel

if it's bad, i let it soak in some car shampoo first

From the pic it looks like you have the same problem that I had, dirt (or skin, in your case) that is stuck in the wrinkles of the panel texture. I tried many, many things to get it off without success until the Einszett Plastic and Vinyl cleaner did the trick. It took some scrubbing with a MF towel in some heavily soiled spots, but it all came off and looks like new.

I highly recommend the 1Z cleaner, followed up by a wet rag to get off the residue, and then Cockpit. Made my car look like new and she's got 85k miles!

Re: how to clean/treat A3 door panels?

ok I went at it with the 1Z plastic and it looks like that did the trick, but its raining again today so I cant get it outside to be totally sure yet. It did take a few minutes of scrubbing at it, but I had also let it go for a while, so hopefully next time will go quicker

One of these days it will stop raining and I will be able to see it in the sun to be certain

Not really sure why I didn't try that to begin with since I already had the cleaner and had used it on other parts that day, guess I really am getting old!

Einszett Plastic and Vinyl Cleaner followed by Einszett Cockpit.

You may be able to get away with just using Cockpit.

Re: how to clean/treat A3 door panels?

finally its not raining! I scrubbed the panel with Einszett plastic with a mf cloth and managed to get most of it after about ten minutes or so. I may go at it with an toothbrush later to get to the rest of it. Going to have to make a habit of cleaning these more often or something, its just silly how hard it is to clean these and it hasn't been that long since last time.

Thanks for all the help :)
