So i think i lost one of my keys. I'm hoping it will show up but if it doesn't where is the best/cheapest place to get a new one. I see them on ebay sometimes but where could i take my key and get it cut/programmed other than the dealership?

    Re: Lost Key?

I had a third one cut at the dealership. It shouldn't be too bad, but it is a couple hundred bucks to avoid if possible.

The dealership on Maui was dumb. Nobody mentioned that it had to be reprogrammed with the car and existing keys. I had to go out to my car, try and use it, then look like a dumbass. Then I had to go through the hassle of scheduling the appointment and bring everything in a week later and pay for it to be reprogrammed on top of the price of the key. It was stupid. I'm so glad I'm on Oahu now, the dealership here isn't quite as full of it.

You need to get it programmed at the dealership as your car needs to be connected to their computer which communicates back to Germany to get the new key codes.

    Re: Lost Key?

I would suggest ebay to get the key for cheap. It is still going to cost you at least $150 to get your key cut and programmed but at least you will save around $100 on the key. Definitely make sure that you bring all of your keys with you to the dealership because they will have to reprogram all of them. If you forget the keys and they don't program them with your car, you won't be able to start your car with them, you will only be able to unlock your doors.
