What do you mean "dail the wg"? Are you just making it stay closed longer so that more of the exhaust is forced thru it up to the point that you do make 18psi?

yeah i don't get how adjusting the wastegate would make any more peak power if you are still going to be running 18psi???

If the wg is cracking open too soon then fixing that will make more low end power, I dont think its going to make a huge diffence at the top end since the wg is still making the turbo produce just 18psi.

BTW at 18psi it looks like the boost drops slightly after 5500 rpm. I wonder if that taper will get bigger when pushing 25psi.

You have to dial in the synapse wastegates. They operate a little different then a set tial spring works.

This is all WG dialing related. The Synapse is nothing like a Tial in anyway shape or form.

But it is still just a valve that allows pressure to bypass the turbo. It doesn't add air flow for the same boost level. Basically all it is a newer design of the same part.

Re: What would you say is respectable whp/tq at 18psi?....

    Thread Jack!

can I get a quick rundown of how my Tial 44mm WG is going to act? and will I be able to tweak it at all with a custom tune on an N75 valve as opposed to an EBC? will it produce enough vacuum to open the WG the way it is setup from the factory?

...I feel silly asking, but its better to find out know than after something doesnt work.

Re: What would you say is respectable whp/tq at 18psi?....

Yes you can if you can get the tuner to do the tune for the spring rating that youy have on your Tial. Its just better to use a EBC since it is basically a stand alone ecu/n75 which can react quicker then the OEM setup. One big advantage the EBC has over a OEM N75 valve is the fact that you have 2 hoses going to the Tial WG, one that supplies pressure to the top and another one to the bottom. This means the WG can be fully closed till the very last second, while the N75 blocks all pressure till it needs to start opening the wg and usually does that much sooner then it should.

What have you changed since the last dyno run? I'm pretty sure I heard a couple things have changed. Are you running W/M? going to?

    W/o W/M I'd say 362whp and 318wtq.
    Just to be different.

    Better rich than lean.
It just goes to show how much headroom he has as is. IIRC he has enough fuel for a very respectable amount of power.

Nice numbers bassed. Did you really drive all the way to canada to get your car tuned? Man you are dedicated. My hats off to you.

BTW, how did the rest of the install go? Were you and Aaron able to get everything mounted the way you wanted it?

Yup I've spent some time on the rollers up there now. I ended up trunk mounting and having a pretty clean install. Aeron wouldn't allow me to mount it where I wanted and I'm happy about that now

lol, yeah I didn't think he was going to let you put it there. That's awesome that it came out good.

Sounds like too much hassle just to be able to maintain a boost level. A Tial wastegate with an EBC sounds much simpler...
